The Tulsa Day Center depends on volunteers for both professional services and routine daily assistance to successfully continue serving our clients. We need flexible, friendly people. You must be at least 16 years of age. We strongly prefer a minimum commitment of one 3-hour shift every week for the following positions.
Front Desk Receptionists - Welcome and sign-in clients, learn to answer a very busy phone, respond to a variety of questions, and check for clients' mail. Additional requirement: 18 years old or high school graduate.
Clothing Room Workers - This is a very busy position that provides an opportunity to be directly involved with clients. Volunteers in this position help clients choose fresh clothing and dispense toiletry items.
Clinic R.N.'s - Registered nurses are needed to work in our clinic. Services include first aid, wound care, medication assistance, vital signs and blood sugar monitoring.
Clinic Receptionist - Tasks include pulling patient charts, calling patients to the clinic, and filing.
Storage Room volunteer – Keep our area with household items, children's toys and food pantry in order so we can find what we need to give our clients!
Kitchen volunteer – Clean and organize the kitchen on Mondays. We receive large food donations during the weekend and want to make sure we make the best use of left-overs. This volunteer will also help serve Monday morning snacks. This job is cleaning and organizing a heavily used kitchen!
Family Room volunteer – We need help keeping our Family Room toys and books clean and organized. Once a week from 4-5 is ideal.
Office Assistant – Help keep volunteer statistics updated, file, stuff envelopes, shred old documents and perform other routine and special project duties. Any day but Monday is preferred.
Special Events - Help with special event fundraisers, Lyrics on the Lawn in April and Home Run for the Homeless in June. We need help both in planning and preparing for the events and on the day of the events.
